KEY MOTORSPORTS EXPANDS OPERATIONS WITH BODY HANGING SERVICES FOR NASCAR SPRINT CUP, NATIONWIDE,
TRUCK, EAST AND ARCA SERIES TEAMS
Mooresville, NC (October 15, 2010) Key Motorsports announced today the addition of body hanging services available to NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Truck and East as well as ARCA Series teams who are in need of professional quality bodies to be installed at a competitive price. Chevrolet Impala’s for driver Mike Bliss in the Nationwide Series and currently has nine COT cars under construction at the teams Mooresville, North Carolina headquarters.
Key Motorsports team owner Curtis Key purchased five body hanging plates from Gillette Evernham Racing several months ago and added skilled personnel to hang bodies in house for the No. 40 team before making the decision to offer its services to other NASCAR teams.
“We now have full body hanging capabilities at our Mooresville facility and are offering this service to NASCAR teams who can benefit from sending their
cars out for a new body that meets current specs,” said Curtis Key. “We began by hanging our own bodies this season and have worked through the initial processes of producing quality work. With the equipment and personnel we have been able to acquire, we feel that we can be an immediate asset to several full and part-time teams competing in
NASCAR’s top three series.
Mike Bliss has driven the No. 40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet Impala to two top-10, eight top-15 and 20 top-20 finishes in 2010, including 13 top-20’s in the past 14 Nationwide events. The independent team is ranked 21st in owner points, four points out of 20th going into Charlotte this weekend.
“The Key Motorsports team does a great job preparing cars week in and week out,” stated Bliss. “Curtis and Gary Showalter (Key Motorsports crew chief) are at the shop every day and are hands on. They know what it takes to put a competitive car on the track each week and they do a great job at it.”
