RUSSELL E. GARWOOD ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS RETURNING
TO SPONSOR CHAFFIN, KEY MOTORSPORTS AT GATEWAY TRUCK RACE

Rusty Garwood, founder and President of Russell E. Garwood Electrical Contractors, has announced that his company will return as a sponsor of driver Chad Chaffin and the #40 Key Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team for the April 29th race at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, IL.

The Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 250 will mark the second of at least four races this season in which the Marco Island, Florida based company is providing support for the Chaffin/Key Motorsports duo. Considering the recent changes made at the Mooresville, North Carolina-headquartered race team, Garwood is excited about his return to racing and the team’s chances in the St. Louis area event.06CH.jpg (135990 bytes)

“I can’t wait to get back to the race track”, Garwood stated. “We missed the Daytona race because of that top 30 rule, but I am pumped about our race truck’s chances in St. Louis, what with all of the recent changes that have been made with the race team”, added Garwood.

Key Motorsports now has noted Nextel Cup and Craftsman Truck Series crew chief Barry Dodson assuming that roll for the team replacing Lance Hooper while team owner Curtis Key is also changing his engine program beginning with the St. Louis event. The changes have impressed Garwood.

“I’m doing this sponsorship thing because I love racing and respect what Key Motorsports is trying to accomplish. But I have family members who are intrigued with this sponsorship thing, and many of them are in the St. Louis area”, Garwood explained. “I want them to be as excited as I am and certainly want the race truck to be competitive carrying my company’s name. I think that the St. Louis race will mark the team’s turnaround”, he added.

The family-owned business has operated in the Marco Island area for more than 30 years, specializing in new home construction and dock electrical services. Russell E. Garwood Electrical Contractors also provides assorted services for remodels and landscape lighting and is a Guardian Generators dealer.

The company had announced before the 2006 season began that it will also sponsor Key Motorsports for the races at Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway in August and Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida in November. Garwood is also considering extending the sponsorship to several other races, including Phoenix and Las Vegas.
