
Key Motorsports announces 2005 plans
Chesapeake, VA —Key Motorsports announced today their return to the Craftsman Truck Series Circuit with driver Andy Houston and crew chief Lance Hooper. The first race will be the O’Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 24th.
Houston, son of former Busch series standout Tommy Houston, is returning to the Craftsman Truck Series for his first race of 2005. In 120 Craftsman Truck Series’ starts, Houston has collected 3 wins, 27 tops fives and 51 top tens.
Hooper, a former Nextel Cup driver and West Series Champion, recently moved over from the number 65 Truck Series team of Glynn Motorsports. During his tenure with Glynn, Hooper propelled the team to their best finish of this season, eighth place, at Texas Motor Speedway.
According to owner Curtis Key, Sr., “We are very excited about the opportunity to go racing with Andy and Lance this year. Their résumés include racing in all three of the top levels of NASCAR, their experience in the truck series alone will help increase our chances of visiting winner’s circle.”
The O’Reilly 200 will run under the lights on August 24th and will be broadcasted live on the SPEED Channel. Check local listings for airtime.
