KEY MOTORSPORTS BRISTOL MOTOR
SPEEDWAY NATIONWIDE ADVANCE
GROWING TOGETHER - Mike Bliss will enjoy driving the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet this weekend for the Scott’s Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Looking to better his 2 Top 5 finishes at the track, Bliss will count on the progress displayed by the team in this year’s first 3 events together. Bliss’s
most recent finish at Bristol was 15th. Bliss proclaimed, “Knowing Gary Showalter and the Key Motorsports team are behind me gives me confidence going back to Bristol.” The #40 Key Motorsports entry completed both 2009 Nationwide Series events at the World's Fastest Half Mile, taking home finishes of 22nd and 21st.
SEEKING PRIMARY SPONSORSHIP – Like many teams in the NASCAR garages, Key Motorsports has opportunities available for bargain-hunting companies to take advantage of. This weekend the #40 Chevrolet will benefit from the long experience of team owner Curtis Key in continuing the full-time effort without a sponsor
on the hood. The goals of Key Motorsports are not served by “start-and-park” tactics; watch for the red, white and black #40 throughout Saturday’s event.
Quotes and Facts:
ON RUNNING AT THE FINISH AT BRISTOL – Short tracks are notorious for the close-quarters competition that sends multiple competitors to their haulers before the race is through. Key Motorsports has been running at the finish of every Nationwide event at the team has entered at Bristol, and Mike Bliss has only one DNF
event in his Bristol Nationwide history.
LOCKED IN—Out of 50 entries for this weekend’s Nationwide series event only 30 enjoy a guaranteed starting position, and the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet holds one of those enviable positions thanks to the team’s performance last year. Driver Mike Bliss has finished 5th in Nationwide points three times, along
with the 2002 championship in the Truck series. “Points are important and I know what I have to do to stay on top of them,” he states. Current standings indicate the team will still enjoy the status when this year’s points become the determining factor after the fifth event of the 2010 schedule.
