KEY MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH SHEBOYGAN CHEVROLET FOR BUCYRUS 200 AT ROAD AMERICA

Key Motorsports announced Thursday morning a last minute arrangement with Sheboygan Chevrolet to partner with the #40 Chevrolet team for Saturday's Bucyrus 200, the NASCAR Nationwide Series inaugural event at Road America.

"We want to thank Sheboygan Chevrolet for coming on board with us this weekend at Road America," said Key Motorsports team owner Curtis Key. "Sheboygan Chevrolet is a reputable dealership near Road America who has a history of supporting motorsports in the area and we encourage race fans to visit them at SheboyganAuto.com or in their showroom. We are excited for the opportunity to work with them and will do our best for them on Saturday."

The Sheboygan Chevrolet #40 with driver Mike Bliss arrived in Wisconsin with a guaranteed starting position as a result of their current status in the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series owner point standings. Currently occupying 22nd, Bliss and crew chief Gary Showalter are looking for a strong performance at Road America that will add to the teams recent momentum with a steady gain in points.

"We appreciate the support of Sheboygan Chevrolet at Road America," commented Bliss. "We have a new car here this weekend and hopefully we can do a good job for them in the race."

The Bucyrus 200 will be televised live on ESPN2, Saturday, June 19, with coverage beginning at 3 pm ET.


MIKE BLISS/KEY MOTORSPORTS ROAD AMERICA NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES ADVANCE

Mike Bliss returns to the seat of the Key Motorsports Chevrolet this week at Road America to make his 12th start of the 2010 season for Nationwide Series car owner Curtis Key. Bliss will be making his first career start at the legendary Wisconsin racing facility in a brand new car crafted by team personnel at the Key Motorsports shop in Mooresville, North Carolina. The unsponsored Key Motorsports Chevrolet will be dressed out in signature attire, red flames accentuated with white and black backdrops.

The Key Motorsports organization has gone all-out for the Nationwide Series event at Road America, putting forth a diligent effort into the final preparation of the #40 that will compete in the Bucyrus 200 on Saturday. "We are anxious to get this car on the track," commented crew chief Gary Showalter. "The guys in the shop have worked really hard and are excited to be taking a new car to Road America for Saturday's race."

INAUGURAL RACE - The Bucyrus 200 at Road America, Saturday, June 19, 2010 marks the first Nationwide Series event in NASCAR history at the 14-turn, 4.048- mile course located between Milwaukee and Green Bay, creating a level playing field for the 43-car starting field. Road America has hosted one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race during it's long illustrious history, a 258-mile journey on August 12, 1956 won by the late Tim Flock.

VIDEO PRACTICE - While driver Mike Bliss and the Key Motorsports team will see Road America for the first time this weekend, Bliss has taken a few laps around the scenic course using video simulation. "I have probably made a dozen laps on the computer, it looks like it will be a challenge, everyone will have the same challenges as far as getting their cars where they want them. Our team is upbeat and we are ready for it," explained Bliss.

ROAD COURSE EXPERIENCE - Key Motorsports delved into the world of NASCAR road course racing during the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series tour, fielding the #40 for rookie Jeffrey Earnhardt at Watkins Glen International and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve last August. The grandson of seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt made his Nationwide Series career debut at Watkins Glen in the Key Motorsports Chevrolet, starting 36th and finishing 24th, before recording a 31st place finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on August 30, 2009. Team owner Curtis Key is committed to building on the organization's road course program, investing in technology and equipment for the 2010 effort.

STEADY POINTS IMPROVEMENT - The Key Motorsports team currently occupies the 22nd position in the NASCAR Nationwide Series owner point standings, moving up one spot at Kentucky last week after the #40 claimed its sixth top-20 finish of 2010. The team will race this weekend at Road America with the goal of gaining steady ground in the 2010 point battle.
