MENAGERIE OF CHALLENGES LEADS #40 BAD BOY BUGGIES/WILDGAME INNOVATIONS CHEVROLET
TO 16TH IN ALABAMA

Driver Jeff Green's best NASCAR Nationwide Series finish since July 1, 2005 served primary sponsors Bad Boy Buggies and Wildgame Innovations with a rousing expedition into the world of Talladega action. No less than three "Big One" wrecks occurred during the two-hour-plus adventure, yet the #40 Chevrolet fielded by Curtis Key was one of only 24 cars considered to be on the lead lap as the checkered flag fell.

The custom "Big Game" paint scheme spent a lot of time in the sun despite the best efforts of the menacing elements. Preparation time at the Key Motorsports shop was reduced not only by an earlier than usual report time for Talladega, but also from the previous weekend's two-day delayed race. The team workers ran nearly on instinct chasing performance for Bad Boy Buggies and Wildgame Innovations in the Aaron's 312.

In the first lap of the first NASCAR's Nationwide Series practice the engine loaded in the #40 Chevrolet let go. Rather than thrash to hurry the car back into practice, the team took advantage of having a guaranteed starting spot (also knowing the engine change would already cause the team to start from the rear) and double-checked each step and connection in swapping engines. Although this lead to completely missing Happy Hour, NASCAR's rules require each team to run only one lap of practice to be eligible for their guaranteed start and that had been accomplished.

Severe weather on Saturday was another obstacle Green and the Key Motorsports team faced for the spring Talladega event. Alabama was among the 5 states under threat of tornadoes over the weekend. For safety reasons the Aaron's 312 was postponed until Sunday, the second weekend in a row Nationwide schedule has been delayed at least a day for Mother Nature going wild.

The first large multi-car accident of the night pre-empted the competition caution NASCAR had planned for lap 20. The Key Motorsports effort was well clear of the frontstretch incident and already moving from the 42nd starting position to 26th. Green worked the outside, middle and finally the inside line to advance to the lead draft, earning the 18th highest average running position of the day. The #40 Bad Boy Buggies/Wildgame Innovations Chevrolet clearly seen during much of the race moving forward amongst the competition, one lap as the fastest car on the track.

The Curtis Key owned program shuffled in-and-out of the Top-10 for more than the second half of the race, reaching a high position of 6th and spending 55 laps (almost half) in the top-15. The team dodged a bullet as the second "Big One" took out the car immediately behind the #40 on lap 115, causing a 4-lap extension to the race for clean-up reasons. The last restart went to the white flag before the final multi-car accident caught up the Bad Boy Buggies/Wildgame Innovations Chevrolet as the fourth-place driver attempted, and nearly succeeded in saving a sideways car at speed following contact between the 2nd and 5th place competitors. Finishing 16th places Curtis Key safely in 28th of Owner's points.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series moves from the longest Superspeedway to the longest short track on the schedule for next week's Richmond 250. Key Motorsports will return to Richmond International Raceway with the #40 Westerman Companies Chevrolet and driver Mike Bliss on Friday, April 30, 2010 for 250 laps, or 187.5 mi, around the three-quarter mile short track.

KEY MOTORSPORTS GOES "BAD BOY"
WILD IN TALLADEGA FOR AARON'S 312

Jeff Green will be hunting big game this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, which carries the moniker of NASCAR's Most Competitive Track. In his sights will be 48 other entries for the Saturday Aaron's 312 competition.

At Daytona in February Green finished 27th in his only previous start this year. The Owensboro, KY native earned the NASCAR Nationwide series Championship in 2000, placed 2nd in the preceding and following years, but has not competed full-time in the series since moving up to the Cup-level in 2002.

Bad Boy Buggies returns as the primary sponsor this weekend for the #40 Chevrolet. An avid hunter, Green is an owner and user of Bad Boy Buggies products during his personal time. The innovative all electric 4 wheel driveTalladegaFINAL_scheme201040.jpg (250045 bytes) vehicle was born from necessity and created in the true spirit of southern engineering. Co-primary sponsor Wildgame Innovations is a family owned and run company that was founded in early 2002, and has become one of the fastest growing companies in their segment of the hunting industry. They will be joined by WARN Winches, the company that developed the first recreational winch in 1959; and Crown Battery, manufacturing quality products for over 80 years.Caption:

"This one-race deal sure has the whole team looking up," team owner Curtis Key added. A morale boost is good for the team after a hectic turnaround from last weekend's two-day delay, and facing an early report time for this weekend's events.
