Mooresville, NC (August 9, 2010) Mike Bliss had several exciting moments in Saturday’s Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen International, driving the Key Motorsports Chevrolet from the 30th starting position safely through a huge multi-car accident to a 14th place finish, the No. 40 teams best road course effort to date. Concentrating on the race at hand, Bliss maneuvered ahead of many of the “road course” drivers from the start. Carefully avoiding a massive eight-car pileup that literally had cars on top of cars during a restart on lap 24; the veteran driver positioned the unsponsored Key Motorsports Chevrolet Impala in the top-20 by lap thirty of the 82-lap event. The Oregon native kept alive a relentless quest toward the top-10, scored 13th on lap 50, prior to a yellow flag stop for adjustments four laps later that would cost a number of spots on the lap 56 restart. Bliss' adrenaline fought back in the final twenty laps, moving car number 40 from 19th to 14th for Key Motorsports fifth top-15 of 2010. The Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International marks the sixth consecutive race the independent team has finished inside the top-20.

“The Key Motorsports Chevrolet ran awesome today,” commented Bliss. “We didn’t qualify as well as we would have liked, but this is a good race car on the long runs, especially at the end. We were steadily climbing our way toward the top 10, and wished there would have been a few more laps, I think we could have moved up a few more positions if that had been the case. Key Motorsports has done an incredible job building this in-house car, the team is focused and I have no doubt we will soon be contending for a top 10 finish at each event.”

Showalter offered,” We are very happy with everything this weekend. This is the car we ran at Road America, it is a good race car and proved itself today. I think this is a huge accomplishment for our team to run in the top-15, without a sponsor, against a host of road racers here at Watkins Glen. Our momentum continues to build each week giving our team consistent results. We’ll take this car to the shop and get it ready for Canada at the end of the month.”

“Key Motorsports had a very successful day at the track,” shared team owner Curtis Key. “Everyone on our team continues to work hard and proves to be consistent producing a solid top 15 run at Watkins Glen is definitely an accomplishment we are proud of. We had a good point’s day and it was a successful outing for everyone at Key Motorsports.”
