KEY MOTORSPORTS FINDS NO TREATS AT TEXAS
MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (November 3, 2008)- The Key Motorsports #40 Westerman Chevrolet team raced their way into Texas this weekend for the Chevrolet Silverado 350 held on Halloween night, Friday, October 31st feeling optimistic about the race weekend.
However, that optimism was soon sidelined during Friday’s practice when the team was up to 11th place in practice and blew an engine, sending the #40 Westerman race truck’s starting position to the back of the pack. Even though the truck
started 29th, team driver, Jeff Green had worked his way up to 20th position, when, unfortunately, the #40 truck once again got caught up in a melee of shredded metal, tires and sparks. “Unfortunately, we collided with the #8 truck (driven by Chad McCumbee)”, stated Crew Chief, Lance Hooper, “we had a great
truck until we had engine problems”.
The #40 Westerman race truck’s day ended on lap 94, giving the team a 24th finishing position.
“Halloween brought the Key Motorsports team some bad luck”, stated Curtis Key, team owner. “We look forward for a better race next weekend in Phoenix”.
The Key Motorsports team will be heading into Phoenix with the 2002 Truck Champion, Mike Bliss behind the wheel.
