TURBULENT RIDE FOR JEFF GREEN AND
KEY MOTORSPORTS AT MARTINSVILLE

MOORESVILLE, NC (October 20, 2008) – The Martinsville Speedway short track makes drivers short on tempers and even shorter on patience. Saturday’s Kroger 200 was not without incidents and accidents. After the rains drenched the track on Friday, the #40 Westerman Chevrolet qualified a respectable 25th starting position for Saturday’s race.

The Key Motorsports crew dialed the truck in and driver Jeff Green wrestled the truck from 25th to up to 22nd place, dodging spinning trucks and sheet metal. The #40 truck met its first unfortunate event when the #71 of Ben Stancill tapped the bumper and sent Green into the wall, damaging the front of the truck. Crew Chief Lance Hooper somberly declared, “Typical Martinsville.”

The second accident of the day happened on Lap 190 when the #40 Westerman Chevrolet was hit by the #4 of Sam Hornish Jr. which sent the truck limping home to a 31st place finish. Team owner Curtis Key said, “Westerman was on the truck, we entertained our sponsor, and had good performance on the track. Everybody worked hard and we had a decent finish. We just got run over by young guys trying to set the world on fire.”

The Key Motorsports team looks forward to a better showing at Atlanta for the E-Z Go 200.
