MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (September 22, 2008) – The Key Motorsports #40 team went into Las Vegas expecting a great weekend, and a great weekend is LV085.JPG (116681 bytes) indeed what they achieved. Jeff Green piloted the #40 Westerman Companies Chevrolet to a solid 7th place finish, the best finish of the season for the team.

Key Motorsports started the weekend off with solid top 20 practice times, which led to a well qualifying effort of 16th. In the 147 lap shootout, spoiled by twelve cautions, Green and company maintained their competitive stance throughout the race, running as high as second.

After fluctuating in and out of the top 10 following lap 70, Green dropped as low as 19th but fought back to finish in the top 10. The race, held before a crowd of 55, 000 fans, aided in solidifying Green’s stance as a competitive Truck Series driver, in only his fifth ever start. The top ten run propelled Green five spots in driver standings to 42nd, and lifted owner Curtis Key one spot in owner standings to 27th.

“This is, again, another example of the great work this team puts in,” stated Green. “These guys give their all, and continue to strive to get these kinds of results. They supplied me with the best equipment, gave 100% on pit road, made the right adjustments, and we got the end result we were looking for.”

Crew Chief Lance Hooper drew off of the momentum which has been building by the team over the past weeks to get them team prepared for Las Vegas. “This is exactly what we needed. This is great momentum for us, especially being such a young, developing team.” LV088.JPG (116244 bytes)

“This was such a great run for us. Everyone, from Jeff to the crew, did an awesome job and we received the results we wanted. We just have to be sure to keep it up.”

The team will have the week off to regroup and prepare for next week’s nail-biting battle in the Mountain Dew 200 at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.
