POULTER SALVAGES 25TH PLACE FINISH AT NEW HAMPSHIRE
Despite race misfortunes, Poulter still manages solid run and finish
MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (September 15, 2008) Paul Poulter entered into the Camping World RV Rental 200 at New Hampshire International Speedway with two goals: to get a good finish and stay out of trouble. Even after a race of mishaps for the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet, Poulter managed to steer the
team to a 25th place finish. And despite the many on (and off) track melees of the race, Poulter stayed out of trouble.
In only his second start for Key Motorsports, Poulter was able to overcome an early race spin as well as two speeding penalties to salvage the 25th place finish. On lap one, Poulter fought loose steering which caused him to spin in turn one, also resulting in rear damage to the truck. Due to this early incident, the
#40 team went down five laps to the leader, and was unable to regain a spot on the lead lap.
It was quite unfortunate what happened on the first lap, states Poulter. But Lance [Hooper, Crew Chief] and the guys remained calm and optimistic, and kept working on the truck. Those guys kept me motivated and made the necessary adjustments throughout the race to bring home a solid finish.
I really had a great time during the race, and learned a lot. I am looking forward to more opportunities to race with the Key Motorsports.
Despite the challenges of the race, the team continued to build on their
momentum, and are looking to gain more momentum as they prepare to enter the Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with drier Jeff Green back at the helm.
