JEFF GREEN TO TAKE REIGNS FOR KEY MOTORSPORTS IN AUGUST RACES
Green Set to Run at Nashville and to Perform Double Duty at Bristol

MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (August 4, 2008) – 2000 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Jeff Green will be back once again with Key Motorsports, but this time in a bigger role. Green will be steering the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet in both the Nashville and Bristol Truck Series races, as well as the #31 Key Motorsports Chevrolet in the Bristol Nationwide Series race.

The NASCAR standout will be making only his second and third starts respectively in his career in the Craftsman Truck Series, and his 256th career start in the Nationwide Series. The lone start for Green in the Craftsman Truck Series came in 1997 at Richmond International Raceway, where he started 16th and finished 33rd.

Other than his success in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Green is best known for his dominance on the NASCAR Nationwide circuit. In addition to his 2000 Championship, Green was the 1999 and 2001 Championship runner-up, 4th in 1996 and 5th in 1995. Of his 255 previous starts, Green has accumulated 16 wins, 87 Top-5s, 127 Top-10s and 24 poles.

Although Green is new to the Key Motorsports Truck program, he has filled the seat of the Key Motorsports Nationwide Chevrolet this season. In the Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond International Raceway, Green qualified 22nd but finished 38th due to an electrical problem.

But that only made Green hungry for more.

“I am very exited to be driving in the Nationwide Series for Key Motorsports again, and even more excited for the opportunity in the trucks,” says Green. “It has obviously been over 10 years since I have been in a truck, and I am eager to get behind the wheel again and get at it.”

Truck Crew Chief Lance Hooper is looking forward to teaming up with Green and preparing for two races of fierce competition. “Jeff is an amazing driver, he’s aggressive and smart. Although he has not had the previous experience in the Truck series as he has in the other top series, I am certain he will get behind the wheel and give it the best he’s got. And I, for one, am looking forward to working with a championship caliber driver.”

Curtis Key, Owner of Key Motorsports, says Jeff Green will be a tremendous asset to the continuous growth for Key Motorsports. “We are continuously growing and analyzing our programs. Having Jeff drive for us in both races will allow us to assess our progress and competitiveness, and prepare us for not only the second half of the seasons, but also for the 2009 seasons as well.”

Green will be competing in the Toyota Tundra 200 on August 9th at Nashville Speedway, and the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 and the Food City 250 on August 20th and 22nd, respectively, at Bristol Motor Speedway.
